What is
IKON is an intuitive, international and simple visual language created by linguists and graphic designers. It is a structured system, where each icon represents a word or a meaning and therefore works as a complete language. Nowadays, icons are the new words. Many media use them as a substitute for words. We took it further and created a multicultural language (IKON) to help people reduce communication barriers.

IKON has applications in different fields, from communication technology to graphic design, education tools, product merchandise and humanitarian crisis support. Whenever you need to convey a message to a multilingual audience and you want to add icons to improve comprehension, KomunIKON is here for you!
How It Works
IKON is a flexible language designed to adapt to your way of expressing ideas. The grammar tips we share are here to spark inspiration and show the thinking behind our icons. They are not strict rules to memorize - just simple guides to help you use IKON with ease and creativity.
In the icon for listen a hand emphasizes the active behaviour of the listener, while the icon for here (a less active action) does not show the hand.

If you are looking for an internationally understandable way to convey a message to people who may have difficulties understanding (e.g., children, migrants, tourists, illiterate, or disabled individuals) - whether for an advertisement, a slogan, on a website, or in a shop - we will iconify your sentences!

Application where you can iconify your ideas. With particular tools, you can create specific tenses, word classes, plurals, genders and more. Just like a regular language.
